PAYO Opening Day Event set for Saturday, May 7th in Andover

5/6/22 Update: The PAYO Opening Day event will be held in the Pymatuning Valley High School Gym - all times remain the same.

The Pymatuning Area Youth Organization (PAYO) is pleased to announce that opening day for the 2022 season is set for May 7th in Andover. Planned to be at the John R. Overly Recreation Park on Chestnut Street, weather permitting, PAYO will kick off the 2022 season in style by highlighting our teams, players, coaches and sponsors. The event is the first Opening Day ceremony of its kind held by the organization in at least a decade.

"Having an Opening Day ceremony allows our organization to recognize and thank all of those who continue to make PAYO a great organization for youth sports," said Cody Paul, President of PAYO. "Our numbers continue to grow each year and we have so much to be thankful for. We hope that this will bring our great community together to celebrate America's Pastime played right here in our own backyard."

The Opening Day ceremonies will take place at the John R. Overly Recreation Park, starting at 10 am sharp. All players and coaches are asked to wear their 2022 uniforms to the event so that we can recognize each team and player. Team photos will be scheduled to be taken after the ceremony which is expected to last no more than an hour. Several teams should have games scheduled at the Rec Park and the Ohio Avenue fields later in the afternoon, weather permitting. Both our Coach Pitch Softball and Minors Softball divisions have confirmed games at 12:30 for select teams.
