8-10 PV SB Minors ELIMINATES Cuyahoga Falls

PV 8-10 Minors All-Stars Softball (1-1) eliminated Cuyahoga Falls All-Stars (0-2) from District tournament play today, June 29th. Their next game will be July 1st, location and opponent is TBD.

The team was led today by fantastic base running & pitching.

It took until the top of the 5th inning for PV to take the lead and not look back. Entering the inning being down 1-4, PV took advantage on the base paths. Hadley Hayes led the inning off with a single, then Eva Martin was hit by a pitch to put 2 runners on with 0 outs. Viv Rizzo took a line drive RBI single to left center to knock in Eva after Hadley came in on a passed ball the pitch before. A walk by MacKenzie Barricklow and timely base running allowed Viv and MacKenzie to both score to take the lead on passed ball opportunities.

Hayes (.500) , Rizzo (.400) , Addyson Fetters (.333) & Annabelle Sharrer (.333) had hits today for PV. Hayes, Barricklow and Fetters each also worked a walk in the game. With only 3 walks, PV did a great job putting the ball in play to create situational base running scenarios.

From the pitching rubber, Bella Beight got the start for PV today and threw 53 pitches for strikes out of 101 total. Bella exited the game after a 3.2ip 3h 4r 1er 6bb 8k stat line. Hadley Hayes came in for relief and earned the victory as pitcher of record after the 5th inning offensive outburst throwing 22 pitches for strikes out of 36 total pitches. Hadley ended with 2.1ip 2h 0r 0er 0bb 4k stat line with the victory.
